Welcome to Corporate to Country: Cultivating a Life That Nourishes

This is the story of leaving behind boardrooms and business travel for barnwood and blackberry vines. Trading quarterly reports for seasonal harvests - and discovering that the most powerful kind of leadership begins with listening: to the land, to your neighbors, and to your own values.

I used to measure success in strategic KPIs and polished presentations. Today, I measure it in sun-warmed tomatoes, shared meals, and the quiet joy of watching a community come alive.

Together with my husband David, we’ve launched TEX&CO Country Store and Hooper Dent Farms - not just as a business, but as a way of life. One that nourishes our neighbors, honors the land, and reimagines what leadership can look like when it’s rooted in purpose and place.

This blog is part journal, part blueprint. Here, I’ll share the journey of building something from scratch blending global experience with local intention. You’ll find reflections on entrepreneurship, community-building, and the messy, beautiful process of starting over. From licensing forms and soil amendments to saving bees with neighbors and vendor partnerships, we’re learning as we go - and sharing it all with you.

But more than anything, this is a space for connection. For anyone who’s ever felt the pull toward something slower, deeper, and more nourishing. For those curious about rural revitalization, local entrepreneurship, or simply living with more intention.

We believe in the power of produce grown with care, stories told with heart, and spaces designed to gather. And we’re so glad you’re here.

Let’s cultivate something beautiful - together.
